Domino’s Pizza 975 McKinney Street
Oven Baked Sandwich - Philly Cheese Steak $5.99

I ordered this sandwich with Domino’s phone app. It allowed me to easily place an order, track its progress, and pay upon pick-up. I have to admit, it was fun to watch the progress of my lunch as I made my way to the store, and to be able to offer words of encouragement to the staff making my lunch. This is not my first oven toasted sandwich from them, but it was my first time trying the Philly.
I have to admit, these toasty subs are good. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The fillings are various combinations of the pizza toppings that they already use, so freshness is almost guarantee. But this is also their downfall, while the ingredients are in a sandwich, they still taste like they are meant for a pizza. The onions and peppers are not grilled, they are baked with the sandwich and still retain a crunch, like they would on a pizza. The sliced steak, while good, is just a little out of key for what you would want in a sandwich. The cheese however does a great job of melting, and there is even the added sharpness of provolone.
Not bad for 5.99 and with the convenient ordering system the toasty subs are a quick lunch. Just maybe, pass on the Philly and try another option.
