The real kicker here is that Downtown Houston’s best cheese steak, isn’t a cheese steak at all, but a burger. The Philly Cheese Steak Burger at Hubcap Grill is a hand formed beef patty griddled to perfection with the contents of a Philly Cheese Steak dumped on top. Shaved beef, peppers, onions and melted cheese all come together to form this humdinger of a sandwich! As mentioned in a previous post, burger buns are not the ideal vessel for a cheese steak. However, the buns at hubcap are substantially better than the ones you find in the grocery sold by the eight count. They are yeastier, airier, and more toothsome that gives a delicious foundation to virtually any sandwich. This one is no exception!
